To many of us, Lake Erie has been a part of our lives for as long as we can remember.  Edgewater Beach, Mentor Headlands and Huntington Beach are just a few of the local beaches that surround our community. As Clevelanders, we understand that Lake Erie is unique among the Great Lakes.

Lake Erie’s shallow waters and location result in the highest primary production, biological diversity and fish production of all the Great Lakes.

The Greater Cleveland Aquarium’s Ohio Lakes and Rivers gallery recently went under renovation to make the exhibit bigger and better than ever! Now including a waterfall, new species additions and larger tanks, the gallery creates a forest-like feel for guests looking to learn about the interesting aquatic life that also calls the state of Ohio home.

With a spotlight focusing around Lake Erie, guests have the opportunity to recognize and learn about the aquatic life that inhabits Ohio’s own Great Lake, creating an exhibit unlike anything you would encounter at any other aquarium.

Possibly the biggest addition to Ohio Lakes and Rivers is the Explorer’s Hut. What was once just a plain wall is now a place where guests can get up close and personal with microscopic organisms and even interact with GCA’s own real explorer.

So, what are you waiting for? You’re not going to want to miss this. Come visit us and the NEW and improved Ohio Lakes & Rivers Exhibit today! O-H-I-O!
