Police in Sacramento are asking for the public’s help to locate a man suspected of drowning and killing a dog.

According to KTXL, police are looking for William Meek, 47.

Investigators believe he tied a bowling ball around a dog’s neck and threw the dog into a river. The drowning happened back in June.

Meek is wanted on three outstanding warrants — two for drug charges and one for felony animal cruelty.

The dog was micro-chipped, which helped lead investigators to Meek.

Meek failed to show for an arraignment on unrelated drug charges. He is now listed on Sacramento’s Most Wanted list.
