DUBLIN, Calif. — A woman gets her last wish granted just 72 hours before losing her fight with cancer.
According to KTVU, Mary Ann Manning, 61, battled breast cancer for nearly three years. Her son, Ryan, was to be married on Sept. 5. She wanted desperately to make it to the wedding.
Just a few months before the big day, Mary Ann was in a wheelchair and was very weak. Even the days leading up to the wedding, she needed help making it around.
Her family thought she was close to losing her battle.
But Mary Anne was able to be at the wedding — and jumped up to dance with her son at the reception.
They danced to the song “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
Three days later, Mary Ann passed away.
Her daughter, Kristie, posted video of the last dance to YouTube.
She wrote: “Mary Ann Manning lost her battle with breast cancer just 3 days after this dance. She held on with all her might to give her son this last gift. It’s really the epitome of a mother’s love. She now joins her other baby boy, who passed 4 years ago, in heaven.”
