Akron police search for armed robbery suspect

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Police Department was searching for an aggravated robbery suspect who targeted an Aldi store.

The man went inside the Brittain Road location around 6 p.m. Tuesday and headed to the register.

Surveillance video appeared to show him begin to purchase some toilet paper.

Police said the man then showed a pistol and demanded money from the register, telling the clerk “not to be stupid.”

He then took cash and got away.

The man was described as being 5’8″ tall and around 150-155 pounds.  He had brown hair and wore a blue bandana, dark blue or black jacket and plaid pants.

Anyone with information was asked to contact Detective Surblis at 330-375-2490.

If you see the man, police said not to approach him, but to call 911.
