LORAIN, Ohio-- A local teacher finds himself out of the classroom and facing some serious charges.

Sean Silvasy should be teaching math at Credit Recovery Academy, an alternative high school in the Lorain City School District.

Instead, Silvasy, 43, is charged with two counts of attempted illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material after allegedly asking two teenage boys to send nude photos of themselves to him. "It's disgusting for one thing," Lorain resident Grace Sturgell said.

According to Lorain County Sheriff investigators, the boys, ages 16 and 17, repeatedly denied Silvasy's request for nude photos.

The teens showed investigators the text messages between them and Silvasy to prove it. Investigators said the teens are not students at Credit Recovery Academy and were working for Silvasy at his rental property when the request for nude photos was made.

"To me, that doesn't matter. If he is making inappropriate behavior towards children, it's not acceptable. It's not acceptable. I can't see a person like that teaching," Sturgell added.

Lorain School Superintendent Tom Tucker said Silvasy was considered a good teacher and there was nothing in the background check to keep from hiring him in 2013.

Tucker said Silvasy is on paid leave, pending the outcome of the criminal case against him.

Silvasy is expected to answer to the charges against him in court Thursday.
