Police: Suspect stabs, robs victim after befriending him on bus

CLEVELAND — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man wanted in a stabbing and robbery.

According to police, the victim was riding an RTA bus home from work on July 30 when the suspect approached him, talking about wanting a job. The victim reportedly agreed to help the suspect fill out an online application.

After getting off the bus at the Lorain/Fulton Road stop in Cleveland, police said the suspect turned behind a garage and cut the victim in the neck with a switchblade.

The suspect told him, “Give me what you got, phone and wallet.”

Police said the victim was stabbed several more times when he wrestled with the suspect. The suspect took $100 from the victim and ran off.

The suspect is described as being in his 30s, 5’8″, 160 lbs with the possible name of “Shawn.”
