WESTLAKE, Ohio -- A hang-up call to 911 set the wheels in motion for authorities to arrest a man accused of stabbing his parents.
The call was made from Southbridge Drive in Westlake Monday around 10:18 p.m.
When dispatchers called back, they found a 58-year-old man and his 56-year-old wife had been stabbed, allegedly by their 22-year-old son.
The Westlake Fire Department took the victims to St. John Medical Center. They were then airlifted to MetroHealth Medical Center.
Kim Jaworski suffered life-threatening injuries, the Westlake Police Department said. Carol Jaworski was in stable condition.
Robert Jaworski was arrested at Porter Road and Lansing Drive around 11:29 p.m. Monday after a search.
Authorities were searching the Porter Road area and nearby side streets Tuesday looking for a discarded kitchen knife.
Residents were warned not to touch the knife if they come across it. Instead, the knife should be reported by calling 440-871-3311.
After his arrest, Jaworski was taken to the Westlake City Jail.
The Westlake Police Department said charges have not been filed, but are likely to be two counts (at minimum) of felonious assault or attempted murder, as directed by the Westlake City Prosecutor.
