2 killed in separate shootings identified

CLEVELAND — After a rash of weekend shootings, two people killed in separate incidents have been identified.

One victim was shot in the area of East 89th Street and Superior Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office named the victim as Brian Montgomery, 47, of Maple Heights.

A second man was shot in the same incident, but survived.  The unnamed victim was being treated at MetroHealth Medical Center for a gunshot wound to the leg.

The other deadly shooting occurred in the 1100 block of East 123rd Street on Sunday around 3:20 p.m.

The medical examiner’s office said James Parker, 35, of Cleveland, was the victim in that case.

The Cleveland Division of Police said no arrests had been made in either incident.
