The race for the atomic bomb — it’s one of the most compelling stories in history.

WGN America created an entire series around it; it’s called ‘Manhattan,’ and it’s almost here.

The show is set in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Fox 8’s Gabe Spiegel visited the set for a behind-the-scenes look at the production and to speak to a local actor who appears in the series.

You can expect some sneak peaks from Gabe this week on Fox 8 News.

‘Manhattan’ debuts Sunday July 27, at 9 p.m. eastern on WGN America. You can also watch it on FOX 8 that night at 11 p.m.

‘Manhattan’ is WGN America’s second original show this year. They first brought you ‘Salem,’ back in April.
