Teen taken to hospital after buggy rear-ended by Jeep

HUNTSBURG, Geauga Co. — A 13-year-old boy has been taken to the hospital after his horse and buggy were reportedly rear-ended by a Jeep.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the boy was traveling in the buggy in the 16900 block of Chardon-Windsor Road around 6:45 p.m. Sunday when it happened.

The boy was taken by medical helicopter to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Jeep was not injured and has not yet been charged, according to troopers.

The horse was seriously injured and was euthanized by a neighbor at the owner’s request.
