A 29-year-old Dutch cyclist narrowly escaped death twice — on both doomed Malaysia Airlines flights.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Maarten de Jonge was supposed to be on Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, which disappeared in March.

Then, he was supposed to fly on Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17, which was shot down this week over Ukraine, killing all 298 on board. He switched flights at the last minute to save some money.
