There is new speculation this morning the Cleveland Cavaliers are heavily pursuing LeBron James.

Joe Lull, of 92.3 The Fan, got things going when he tweeted that Cavs owner Dan Gilbert was on a plane headed for Miami.

Gilbert quickly refuted the tweet, saying he was at home “enjoying weather in my backyard today.”

Multiple sources were reporting, however, that former Cavaliers player Zydrunas Ilgauskas was on the plane headed for Miami. He and James have been good friends as they were teammates for seven years in Cleveland and one in Miami.

The hashtag “Bring Him Home Big Z” was trending on Twitter Sunday night.

A tweet sent by ESPN reporter Chris Broussard got fans especially fired up. It was retweeted nearly 17,000 times.

The first day teams can sign free agents is Thursday.

The Associated Press reported that James will meet with Miami Heat President Pat Riley this week before making a decision about where to play next season.

James is being pursued by several NBA teams.
