SANDUSKY, Ohio -- Cedar Point kicked off a promotion for military members with a surprise for one of its own.

During the opening number at Monday night's Luminosity show, performer Konner Cooke was asked, "Who's your favorite marine?"

Cooke quickly answered, "My brother!" referring to Lance Corporal Kyle Cooke who has been stationed in Hawaii for the last two years.

An announcer replied, "Your bother?  Is it him?" and pointed to a man walking onto the stage.

Konner Cooke dropped his face into his hands in disbelief before he and his brother shared a long hug.

Their mom, Kristi Cooke, worked with the show's coordinator to set up the surprise.

"It was wonderful, it warmed my heart.  It's what I was really looking forward to.  It was everything I hoped it would be," Kristi said after the reunion.

The Cooke family is from Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The homecoming helped kick off Cedar Point's Stars and Stripes Celebration.

It allows all active, retired and honorably-discharged members of the United States Armed Forces to receive complimentary admission into Cedar Point and Soak City through Sunday, July 6.
