MASSILLON, Ohio — The Massillon Police Department said the parents of a boy found wandering have been located.

Someone called the police Tuesday morning to report the child who was seen near Finefrock and South Erie.

When officers responded to the welfare check, the boy was outside.  He wasn’t wearing a shirt.

Police said he appeared to be about 11 years old but was unable to communicate with them.

“Thank you all for the assistance,” the Massillon Police Department wrote to the public on its Facebook page after locating the parents.

The boy was safely returned to his father’s home.
