4-year-old released from hospital after shooting at playground

CLEVELAND — A 4-year-old who was shot at a playground over the weekend has been released from the hospital.

It happened at East Clark Elementary School on East 146th Street on Sunday.

Witnesses said a blue vehicle with three to four people inside was driving past the playground when one of the occupants began firing shots.

It was then that the four-year-old was shot in the thigh. He was with his older brother on the playground at the time, and his sibling left the area with him when he realized what happened.

Police said they do not believe the victim was the intended target of the shooting.

One person has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
