MISSOURI — A mother from Missouri has been convicted after mixing rubbing alcohol into her twin daughters’ milk.

According to KCTV, Gloria S. Jones told authorities she put the substance into their sippy cups because she wanted them to stop whining.

The girls became sick and had to be taken to a hospital, where one was near death and placed on a ventilator.

It all happened in 2012. The two girls are now three years old.

A jury has recommended Jones serve five years in prison.
