MENTOR, Ohio — Several mobile homes were evacuated in Mentor Wednesday after police say someone shot a bullet through a resident’s window.

Carl Coup, 39, was arrested and charged with discharging firearms in the case.

According to Mentor police, it happened at about 11 a.m. in the 9100 block of Mentor Avenue. Officers were called to a mobile home there to reports of someone throwing a rock through a window. The resident showed the officers what came through the window, and recognized the object as a bullet.

At about the same time, officers heard gunshots coming from a neighboring mobile home.

Other officers then responded and set up a perimeter while helping to evacuate several other mobile homes in the area. Once evacuations were complete, the residents of the mobile home where shots were heard came out to speak to officers.

Coup was then arrested.

No one was injured, said police, and residents were then allowed to return to their homes.
