Before too long your communication with other drivers may no longer be limited to beeps and hand gestures.

GM is working on an app to let you get in touch using your Android phone.

According to ComputerWorld.com, a prototype app called DiDi Plate lets you use your camera to snap a pic of a license plate, which then opens up the driver’s profile.

The director of GM’s China R&D Division, where the app is being developed, said the other person doesn’t even have to be registered and you can still send them greetings and comments.

That will allow you to give feedback on their driving, let them know they’re in your reserved parking space or even strike up social conversations.
