SANDUSKY, Ohio —  Cedar Point and the park’s resort properties will remain closed until Monday after a water main break.

According to the amusement park, Saturday morning the City of Sandusky experienced a break on the main line that supplies water to Cedar Point. The city is now working to repair the system.

According to a release issued Saturday afternoon, the repairs will require several more hours to complete. Once it is repaired, there are additional procedures that must be taken to restore water pressure to all areas of the property.

Testing must also be completed to ensure systems are working properly.

The release states that the park and resort properties will remain closed through Monday, when officials “anticipate” resuming normal operations. Updates will be given up until that point.

“We recognize the situation has caused many of our guests to be disappointed,” according to the release. “We are sorry that this has happened.”

Cedar Point tweeted that guests with tickets today may use them at Wildwater Kingdom in Aurora or Kings Island in Cincinnati.

The release states that tickets will also be honored on any operating day in 2014 where the park is open to the public.
