A 93-year-old veteran parachuted into Normandy 70 years ago; this week, he wanted to try it again one last time.

Former paratrooper Jim "Pee Wee" Martin went the whole way to France to do it on the anniversary of D Day.

With military members a third his age, he boarded a C-47 not much different from the one he boarded in England nearly 70 years ago to the hour, according to CNN. The first time, enemy soldiers were shooting at him.

This time, he said he jumped for a much different reason -- to remember those he served with, and for himself.

"What made me do it today?   A little ego  because I am 93 and I can still do it…and also I just wanted to show all the people who you don't sit and die just because you get old," he said.
