WESTLAKE, Ohio -- A Westlake High School student wanted to invite his long-time girlfriend to prom, and he did it in an extra-special way.

Jacob Cox has Down syndrome, and so does his girlfriend, Holly Thomas. They've taken all the same classes together and have been dating for some time.

Jacob's friends wanted to help him make the prom proposal extra-special, so they got the whole school involved.

Cheerleaders lined the hallway in the school as Jacob made his way toward Holly. When he finally got there, he gave her a flower and asked her to prom.

She said yes, and the crowd cheered.

It was all captured on video.

If their names sound familiar, it's because they were voted homecoming king and queen last fall.
