It takes a lot of courage to stand up to a bully, especially for a child.

According to the Huffington Post, one young boy put his fears aside and faced his bullies in public.

Jake is a boy with autism.

He recently spoke out during an exercise in his school gym, addressing his bullies head on.  Jake said, ” I think you guys see me as a big target. You guys are always leaving me out of stuff, never paying attention to me or anything I say.”

His courageous act was part of the Bully Project, a social action campaign to stop bullying.

Since filming the video, Jake told ‘Upworthy’ he is doing much better and since the movie has made a lot of friends.

Jake also offered advice to other kids with autism. He said, ‘If you are getting bullied, try and tell them to stop and not give a reaction.”
