Most of us have been there — in time-out.

But experts are mixed on whether the form of punishment actually works, according to CBS New York.

Some experts say the punishment is only temporary, and can lead to issues as an adult.

Meanwhile, others said when it’s used correctly, time-outs are a good option because they remove a child from what’s happening in a specific moment.

Others say it depends on the child. Most agree positive reinforcement is also a good option.
