My Town: Akron RubberDucks to Host 5K Run

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron RubberDucks have announced plans for their inaugural 5K run.

The RubberDucks 5K Run will be held Sunday, June 1, at 10:30 a.m. The run will be held in downtown Akron and will begin and finish in Canal Park, where the RubberDucks are scheduled to play to Harrisburg Senators at 2:05 p.m.

In addition to the 5K, a one-mile Kids Fun Run will be held at 10 a.m. As part of Family FUNday, kids 12 and under can also run the bases following that day’s ballgame.

Admission to the game is included in all run and walk participants’ registration. Registration is $25 for runners who register before May 20 and $30 thereafter. The one-mile Kids Fun Run is $10 and includes two sodas. Adult registration includes two drafts beers or sodas.

A $15 picnic lunch is also available to participants, as well as additional game tickets for $7.

Registration for the 5K and Kids Fun Run ends May 31 at 6 p.m.
