Mentor K-9 Officers Receive Top Honors

MENTOR, Oh – Two K-9 officers in Mentor are being honored for their hard work on the job.

Officers Wurgler and Mackey received awards from the German Shepard Dog Club of Northern Ohio.

Officer Wurgler and Titan received Top Honor Tracking and Apprehension awards due to their work in 2013 finding two suicidal people, a mentally challenged person, and several people who were hiding from officers.

Officer Mackey and Bo received Top Honor Narcotics Detection award for finding 1 kilo of cocaine, half a kilo of heroin, and over $100,000 in drug money on a traffic stop.
