Amherst School Custodian Arrested on Sex Charge

AMHERST, Oh – An elementary school custodian has been arrested on charges of kidnapping and gross sexual imposition.

Raymond Tiller, 56,  was taken into custody Tuesday.

On Monday, the Amherst Police Department received a sexual offense complaint against Tiller. Amherst detectives began an investigation into the complaint with the help of a school resource officer.

The reported offense happened on April 5th at Josiah Harris Elementary School where Tiller was a custodian. He worked the afternoon shift at the school from 2:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Tiller is being held at the Lorain County Jail with no bond, pending a court appearance on Wednesday.

The reported victim was not a student at Amherst Schools. There haven’t been any reports against Tiller by any Amherst students, according to police.

Tiller has been told not to return to any Amherst school property.
