CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA -- A South Carolina woman says she was asked to leave the gym during her workout last week because of her baby bump.

According to WCIV, Melissa Mantor was working out at a Planet Fitness location when she said an employee approached her and asked her to either put on a t-shirt or leave because her "belly was hanging out."

Mantor is 18 weeks pregnant.

The Planet Fitness Corporation Dress Code bans "string tank tops," which Mantor was wearing at the time, but does not specifically address exposed midriffs, according to WCIV.

Mantor said she has worn those same tank tops to the gym for three years without a complaint. She says Monday night was the first time she attended the gym while noticeable pregnant.
