Woman Hit by Car Crossing Street; Driver Took Off

CLEVELAND– Police said a woman was hit while crossing the street at Broadway and Worley on Monday.

It happened just before noon.

Police said a red Nissan Altima with Ohio plate GBX-2490 struck the 54-year-old woman in the intersection.

According to police, the driver stopped at first, then left when EMS arrived.

The woman was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where she is in serious, but stable condition.

Police are working on getting a positive identification on the driver.
