Lockdown Lifted on Kent State Campus; Suspect Arrested

KENT, Ohio--A lockdown at Kent State University was lifted for the entire campus just before 11 p.m., Wednesday night.

Kent State was on lockdown for several hours after a shot was fired into the ground just after 8 p.m., outside of Bowman Hall, an academic hall at the university.

A suspect was arrested just before midnight in Portage County.

Students received a text about the lockdown and were also alerted once the lockdown was lifted.
