The suggestion that a 31-year-old Cleveland native could be Michael Jackson’s son got its share of Internet play after DNA results revealed Thursday supposedly confirmed a match.

However, on Friday, TMZ reported the DNA lab that supposedly did the testing does not exist.  Furthermore, TMZ said the logo from the purported lab was ripped from Terminator Salvation.

All the buzz centered around Brandon Howard, who is the son of singer Miki Howard. Michael Jackson’s father, Joe, represented her back in the 1980s.

According to TMZ, Miki and Jackson met in 1982 and Brandon was born soon after.

Howard is now a singer who goes by the name B. Howard. According to TMZ, he grew up in Cleveland but currently lives in Miami.

Sources told TMZ, Howard somehow acquired DNA from an old orthodontic device worn by Jackson. Those DNA results reportedly showed a match.

According to the test results — obtained by Alki David and his company, FilmOn.com, Brandon Howard was deemed to be almost certainly Michael’s son after testing revealed a 99.9% match.

When the “results” were made public, TMZ published its update saying the results were not legitimate.

On Thursday, we asked Fox 8 viewers what they thought …

FilmOn published a statement from Howard, released through his manager Scott Broomfield:

“To my fans, family, and friends, despite recent allegations, I did not authorize the testing of my DNA to be compared to that of the late Michael Jackson nor did I contact TMZ regarding the publication of the story.

This spring, I agreed to be a part of a documentary with FilmOn.TV and was asked to give a sample of my DNA. Even though I agreed to this I never expected it to be used in this manner.

To this day, I have never claimed to be Michael Jackson’s son nor do I have any intention of pursuing the family’s estate.”
