Talking about how much you’re paid is usually taboo in the workplace, but at Whole Foods, it’s encouraged.

In fact, you don’t even have to talk about it.  You can look up a co-worker’s salary at your whim.  And those figures include employees at the CEO level.

Entrepreneur.com reported details of the Whole Foods open policy from the book “The Decoded Company: Know Your Talent Better Than You Know Your Customers.”

The goal is to keep employees informed and to promote competition within the company.

    salaries went in-house at where I work and the HR guy told people what some salaries were, and that was Awful – it caused alot of stress!

    I used to work for the government…all salaries are public record! If you want to know what a co-worker makes, look it up! 🙂
