RICHMOND HEIGHTS, OH — A new interim superintendent has been named in Richmond Heights following the arrest of Superintendent Robert Moore II and the district’s building and grounds director, Richard Muse.

Moore and Muse were arrested Friday on charges of bribery and theft in office.

According to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s office, they were indicted Monday on one count each of Extortion, Bribery, Theft in Office and Soliciting or Receiving Improper Compensation.

Rob A. Mengerink was named Richmond Heights Interim Superintendent Monday evening. He will also keep his previous title as the Supervisor of the Educational Service Center of Cuyahoga County.

Moore was placed on leave with pay pending an investigation. Muse’s role does not fall under the school board, but rather, the superintendent. Mengerink will determine his further role in the district.
