Fitbit has voluntarily recalled its Fitbit Force activity tracker.

The Force is a wristband that displays the number of steps a user takes, along with calories burned and other facts.

According to Fitbit, it began selling the tracker last year, and recently users have reported skin irritation.

The cause is likely allergic contact dermatitis, according to the company, from the stainless steel part of the tracker or other materials in the strap.

The company said it is offering a refund directly to consumers for full retail price. The pedometer costs about $130.
