Officials: Firework-Making May be to Blame for Explosion

HARTVILLE, OH – New details released Sunday after a man was injured in an explosion at a home in Hartville Saturday afternoon.

Investigators said the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. When first responders arrived they found a man injured. He was taken to the hospital for the treatment of his injuries.

Officials have not yet released a cause, but said they can not rule out an explosion involving the making of fireworks.

The explosion happened inside a detached garage and damaged several surrounding homes.

The State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating along with the Stark County Sheriff’s office, Summit County Bomb Squad and the ATF.
