Mentor Police Warn Residents of Car Break-Ins

MENTOR, Ohio — Mentor police say the city is experiencing a rash of car break-ins.

According to a post on the Mentor Police Department’s Facebook page, the break-ins are happening mostly in parking lots on the south end of the city.

Police say the suspects are breaking windows and taking valuables in plain view, sometimes as quickly as five minutes after the victims park.

Police said they are currently obtaining video from several sources to try to catch the suspects.

They urge drivers to hide valuables in parked vehicles.
