To some, it’s a day of service.  To others, it’s about remembrance.  And to many, it’s about education.

However you celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, there are plenty of opportunities around town to enhance your experience.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is recognized on the third Monday of January, around the time of King’s Jan. 15 birthday.

Here are a few of the events still planned for the coming days:

Lee Daniels’ ‘The Butler’ Film Screening and Discussion

WHEN:  Tuesday, Jan. 21 @ 6 p.m.
WHERE:  Case Western Reserve University’s Wolstein Building Auditorium, 2103 Cornell Road
The historical fiction drama is loosely inspired by an African-American who served as a White House butler.

Kent State’s Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration
WHEN:  Thursday, Jan. 23 @ 2 p.m.
WHERE:  Kent Student Center Ballroom, 1075 Risman Drive, Kent
The public may attend for free.  The theme is “Honor the Dream.”
