ELYRIA, Ohio — A power problem at Elyria High School caused a district-wide school closing.

Classes at all Elyria City Schools were canceled for Monday.

The central office was closed as well.

The high school prepares food for the district but will be unable to do so because of the utility failure.

The issue does not extend beyond the school.

The closure does not apply to JVS and Early College.  Transportation will still be provided for those students.

Officials did not offer an estimate on when they expect the problem to be resolved.

The district is closed until further notice.

St. Anthony of Padua in Akron was also closed Monday due to a water problem. Details were not immediately available.

Does anybody know if they are going to have school tomorrow? It would be nice to know sooner than later!
