LORAIN, Ohi0 – A Lorain warehouse is destroyed after a fire Tuesday night.

Fire officials said they were called out to Iowa Avenue just before 10 p.m. When they arrived they found a large fire and had to call for additional crews.

Firefighters fought the fire from the outside since conditions were unsafe inside. They were unable to search the inside of the building because of the heavy fire and a partial roof collapse.

The warehouse was a party supply store.

Sheffield Village and Elyria firefighters were on scene as backup.

The fire was finally put out just before 2 a.m.

A fire crew was on scene overnight Tuesday for hot spots and waiting for an excavator to arrive to demolish the building.

No one was hurt in the fire.

The damage is estimated at $318,000.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
