Winter weather alerts are tossed around more than snowballs in a Northeast Ohio winter, but what do they mean?

You've got your winter storm watch, your winter storm warning and the winter weather advisory.

In short, they all mean snow.

The difference is in the amount of snow and the time period in which it falls.
