BAY VILLAGE, OH -- It's a snowy start to 2014!

Residents on the west side of Cleveland shoveled their way into the New Year Wednesday.

"You just have to prepare good and stay warm. We salt the sidewalks," said Hugo Vargas, of Westlake.

On Humiston Drive in Bay Village, people saw over four inches of snow Wednesday morning.

"Hopefully, we get a lot more snow. Because it's been a mild couple of winters," said Jonathan Kloepfer, of Bay Village.

Just down the street at Cahoon Park, about a hundred sledders took advantage of the recent snow fall.

"It's wonderful. Just seeing it come down last night. I have a day off from work today, no better place to be than out with the kids," said Tom Kelley, of Bay Village.

Another round of heavy snow is predicted Wednesday night, overnight and into early Thursday morning.

On top of the snowy start to the new year, people are in for a cold new year as well. Temperatures will drop into the early teens by the end of this week.
