My Town: Fossils Rock! Geology Weekend

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio — Two local organizations are hosting a weekend for visitors to learn how earth formations are created.

The Fossils Rock! Geology Weekend will be held Saturday, January 18 and Sunday, January 19 at the Rocky River Nature Center.

The free demonstrations will be hosted by the North Coast Fossil Club and the Parma Lapidary Club.

On Saturday, the Extreme Fossil Road Show will feature fossil collectors and experts from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday’s demonstration, Gems and Jewels of the World, will be held from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will focus on precious stones and gems.

The Rocky River Nature Center is located at 24000 Valley Parkway in Rocky River Reservation.
