Police: Apple Fritter Fight Leads to Stabbing

AKRON, Ohio — A Christmas evening turned violent when sisters in Akron reportedly fought over apple fritters and one was stabbed.

According to the Akron Police Department, it happened around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A woman told police she was in the kitchen making the treats when her two sisters began play fighting.

Their fun didn’t last long when one sister started to pull hair and the other responded by stabbing her in the chest.

Tamara Delaney, 21, of Everton Drive, was taken to Akron City Hospital.

Police said her injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

Contisha Hayes, 21, of Callis Oval, was charged with felonious assault and booked into the Summit County Jail.
