NORTON, OH — Crews responded to the scene of a large fire at a golf course in Summit County.

According to Norton fire officials, the blaze is on Golf Course Drive at the Barberton Brookside Country Club.

Multiple fire departments were called in to assist. Firefighters report that the flames were as high as 60 to 80 feet.

The fire is located in a pole barn, which stores golf carts, tractors and other pieces of maintenance equipment.

The facility was fully engulfed when crews arrived. Fire officials say it is a total loss.

Neighbors reported hearing explosions after the fire started. Fire officials say the explosions were from gas tanks inside the maintenance facility.

There are no fire hydrants in the area, so fire crews were operating on a 2-by-2 rotation, leaving to fill up nearby and returning to attempt to extinguish the flames.

Officials do not believe there are any injuries.
