CLEVELAND — It was a heartbreaking finish at the Q for Cavaliers fans.

A Jeff Teague jump shot rattled around the rim before falling, sending the Cavs to defeat as the Atlanta Hawks posted a 127-125 victory.

Cleveland had taken a 123-120 lead on a Kyrie Irving basket. The Cavs All-Star scored 40 on the night.

Teague made a layup with 1:06 left and then a free throw tacked on to give the Hawks a 125-123 lead, which Irving answered with a jumper to knot the score at 125-125. That set the stage for the game winning shot, accounting for two of Teague’s 34 points on the night in a battle of point guards.

Al Horford scored 25 for Atlanta before leaving due to an injury. Teammate Kyle Korver chipped in with 20, as he made 4 three-point-shots in 12 tries.

Irving had 6 turnovers on the night, including a costly one in the second OT. Dion Waiters came back from his wrist injury to pop in 20 points, while Tristan Thompson had 22 points.

The Cavs will be in Boston on Saturday afternoon.
