Browns Fall to Jets, 24-13

NEW JERSEY –The Browns lost their sixth straight game and have lost 9 of their last 10 after losing to the Jets 24-13 on Sunday.

The Browns lead the New York Jets 3-0 after the first quarter. The Browns settled for a field goal after Greg Little dropped a Jason Campbell pass in the end zone.

The Browns were able to capitalize on great field position after a Jets failed fake punt on fourth down.

Before the game, FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer reported that the Jets head coach Rex Ryan told his team that ‘word on the street’ is that he would be fired at the end of the season. Sunday, Ryan was coaching like his job was on the line.

The New York Jets rallied late in the second quarter to tie the game at 10-10 at halftime.

The Browns spent a majority of the quarter in New York territory, but couldn’t capitalize after another missed opportunity in the end zone. Cleveland threw the ball on four straight downs and ended up turning the ball over on downs.

In the next trip to the red zone, the Browns decided to run the ball and Edwin Baker found the end zone to take a 10-0 lead.

The Jets then scored 10 unanswered points, including a field goal in the final seconds of the half to tie the game at 10-10.

The Jets scored twice in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach. The Browns could not capitalize in the red zone. Cleveland had over 20 plays inside the Jets 20-yard line and scored just one touchdown.

Former Browns receiver David Nelson had 2 touchdown catches for the Jets, who ended a losing skid with the win over the Browns.

Cleveland travels to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers in the season finale next Sunday. The Browns are 4-11 on the season and have not won a game since the first week in November when they beat the Baltimore Ravens at FirstEnergy Stadium.
