CLEVELAND– The Cavaliers notched their second straight victory on Wednesday night, downing the Denver Nuggets, 98-88, at Quicken Loans Arena.
It marked the first time all season the Wine and Gold had back-to-back wins.
The win snapped the seven-game win streak for the visitors.
Tristan Thompson scored 17 and pulled down a career high 21 rebounds to key the attack.
Kyrie Irving led the Cavs in scoring with 23 points and 4 assists.
Andrew Bynum scored 14 points in 20 minutes and grabbed 7 rebounds.
The Cavs won despite shooting just 40% from the field. Denver was held to 39% shooting which certainly made coach Mike Brown happy.
Cleveland jumped out to a 31-24 lead after the first quarter; led by 4 at the half; and kept Denver at-bay the rest of the way.
Randy Foye led Denver with 16 points. Former Cav J.J. Hickson had 15 for the Nuggets.
