Game Canceled After Quarterback Attack

A Division II collegiate championship game was canceled after football players at Virginia State University were accused of beating the Winston-Salem State University quarterback.

According to CNN, Virginia State player Lamont Britt was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of assault inflicting injury.

The attack on quarterback Rudy Johnson allegedly happened during a pre-championship luncheon at WSSU.

The athletic association decided to cancel both the football and volleyball conferences scheduled for this weekend after the incident.
