CLEVELAND — Season 17 of FOX 8’s Friday Night Touchdown is officially in the books.

The show went out with a bang with highlights from ten OHSAA Playoff Games across Divisions II, III, IV, and VI.

Defending Division III State Champion St. Vincent-St. Mary (12-0) extended its winning streak to 18-games with a 35-7 victory over Poland Seminary.

The Irish now advance to the Region 7 Final against fellow unbeaten Hubbard (12-0), a 49-19 winner over Aurora (10-2).

In Division II, Highland’s dream season continued. The top-seeded Hornets knocked off perennial power Massillon (10-3) 17-14 in a hard fought game that was decided in the final moments.

Highland (12-0) advances to face undefeated Avon (12-0), which squeaked past Perrysburg, 24-21, in the Region 4 Final.

In Region 3, Glenville (11-1) struggled early against Bedford’s tough defense, before the Tarblooders found their footing and pulled out a 26-12 win that was much closer than the final score.

Glenville advances to play surprising Madison (10-2), which is playing its best football at the right time. A week after avenging a regular season loss to Willoughby South, the Blue Streaks stunned Brecksville-Broadview Heights, 22-21 in a game that went back and forth all night.

The star of Week #12 was Benedictine RB/LB Jerome Baker, who ran away with the final Player of the Week Award for 2013.

Baker racked up more than 250-yards rushing, with 5 touchdowns, as well as an interception in the Bengals’ big 52-35 win over Chagrin Falls (9-3).

Six-time State Champion Benedictine (9-3) has won eight of its last nine games and advances to face eight-time Champion Youngstown Cardinal Mooney (8-4) in the Region 11 Final.
