CLEVELAND — President Barack Obama’s upcoming visit to Cleveland comes at a meaningful time for the steel mill he’ll visit.

He’ll stop at ArcelorMittal Cleveland, located on Eggers Avenue, on Thursday.

“We are honored to host the President of the United States at ArcelorMittal Cleveland, and I look forward to personally welcoming him at the mill on Thursday,” said ArcelorMittal Chairman and CEO Lakshmi Mittal.  “The facility recently celebrated 100 years of steelmaking in Cleveland and therefore, it is especially rewarding to host President Obama at this site that symbolizes the strength and overall increased competitiveness of American manufacturing.”

Obama is expected to make remarks on the economy during his visit.

The ArcelorMittal Cleveland facility employs approximately 1,243 hourly employees and 312 salaried employees, according its website.
