U.S. Marshals Capture Accused Child Rapist
CLEVELAND — A man wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for the kidnapping and rape of a minor was arrested in Puerto Rico by the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force Friday.
William Torres, 27, was wanted on charges that stem from July when he allegedly held a minor against her will and sexually assaulted her.
According to the U.S. Marshal’s office, during the investigation, it was discovered that Torres fled to Puerto Rico. The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force reached out to the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force of Puerto Rico, who arrested Torres without incident.
He was taken to the Puerto Rico Police Department where he is awaiting extradition back to Ohio.
Torres is part of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force’s most wanted sex offenders, the “Agonizing Eight.” Since Monday, authorities have arrested 4 sex offenders on the list.
